Crystallographic preferred orientations and seismic properties of oceanic gabbros

The use of the EBSD technique in Montpellier considerably increased our ability to produce good quality cristallographic fabric measurements of low-symmetry crystal aggregates (such as plagioclase in gabbro). These constitute the database for modeling anisotropic physic properties such as seismic velocities (Mainprice and Humbert, 1994).
